Forged Gate Valve

SGON Forged steel Gate Valves are primarily used for stop valves fully opened or fully closed .They are not normally considered for throttling purposes,but more for slurries,viscous fluids,etc. Gate valves are characterized by a traveling wedge ,which is moved with the operation of the stem nut. Gate valves usually have a minimum pressure drop when fully open,provide tight shut-off when fully closed,and remain relatively free of contamination buildup.

The opening and closing parts of forged steel gate valves are gate plates. The movement direction of the gate is perpendicular to the direction of the fluid, and the forging gate valve can only be fully opened and closed, and can not be adjusted and throttled. The gate of the forging gate valve has two sealing surfaces. The two sealing surfaces of the most commonly used gate valves are wedge-shaped and wedge angles vary with valve parameters.

By using different material, the valves could be suitable for medium such as water, steam, oil, nitric acid, acetic acid, oxidizing substance, carbamide and etc. Molded flexible graphite is used for packing of Female Threaded Gate Valve. PTFE or combined packing material can be also used if being requested by the customer. The internal surface of the stuffing box, of which area is contacted with the packing, is of excellent finish (Ra 3.2μm). The stem surface, contacting with the packing, should be rolled and pressed after being precisely machined, so as to reach to the high finish and compactness (Ra 0.8μm) and ensure the reliable tightness of the stem area.

The opening and closing parts of Forged Steel Bellows Gate Valves are plug valves, the sealing faces are flat or conical, and the disc moves along the centerline of the fluid in a straight line. The motion form of the stem has the lifting rod type (the stem lift, the handwheel not lifting), also the lifting and rotating rod type (the handwheel and the stem rotates with the lift, the nut is located on the body). The corrugated valve is only suitable for full opening and full closing, and no adjustment and throttling are allowed. Valves of this type should be installed horizontally in pipes.
